New here, and I have the typical newby questions. I have read most of the forum posts that look like answers to my questions, but I'm not finding the one that just makes everything click. I may not even on the right forum for what I'd like to do.
What I'd like to do - Well it would be great to have large number of channels running strings of store-bought LED strings that are dimmed by the setup I end up with. Nice to start small and expand as I go, but would not rule out large board right out of the box. Would like to have it synced to/by music.
What I already know - Little to nothing about the controllers described here. I have programmed in Windows (VS), Linux asm, and some AVR asm. I'm not following the dimming theory here. (I'm assuming it's not PWM?). And I don't know what Vixen does, even though it was mentioned as a solution for "audio sync" in one of the forum posts.
I'm seeing a suggestion to go to another site for their forums in one of the posts here. But I belong to so many now, another just doesn't make sense until I find out this one is not for me.
So, if anyone thinks they know what I might need to accomplish my goals, and can recommend a starting place, I'd certainly like to hear about it. I have reviewed the comparison charts of the boards, but still not sure which way to go.
Sorry that this should probably be broken up and placed in more that just this one forum. I didn't want to seem overly troublesome. I will do my homework if someone can get me started.
Thanks loads for any help. |
