HowTo: Non Permanent 200a power panel  (Patrick Sullivan)

    << Previous Page       Page 1    Page 2   Page 3       Next Page >>

Step 6 : Before

here is a pic of a plug right out of the box next to a pile of parts allready taken off the other 11 plugs

Step 7 : After

here it is all set to go in

Step 8 : Wiring

at this point you need to run the wire I recommend running all the wire first and then putting the outlets in it makes it alot easier
each box needs 2 black 1 white you piggy back the white between 2 plugs and 1 ground also piggy backed
I know someone is going to say its a all metal box you dont need a ground or why not piggy back all 1 white wire for all 6 plugs on the left side but this panel is going to pull alot of power I would rather take the extra 5 minutes now and run a ground wire straight to the plug and not rely on the connector going into the panel and as far as the white goes I just feel more comfortable spreading it out more

Step 9 : Install the Plugs

at this point you need to install your outlets but im not going to tell you how to do this if you dont know how allready then this is the time to put down the screwdriver and call an electrician no offense but as I said this is alot of amperage were talking about here
**NOTE**
this is also a good place to put in gfci outlets instead of using a large gfci breaker in the main panel

Step 11 : Your Main Panel

***--I HIGHLY RECOMMEND A LICENSED ELECTRICIAN DO THIS PART--**

I have decided to totally delete this section I tried rewriting it several times and every time I do it something doesnt seem right about it so im just going to say call an electrician show him the sub panel and have him install what needs to be there
if you are using both cords just make sure to tell him to pay attention to the phase as it is not something they normally have to worry about
