Curtain Strobe Modification

HowTo: Octal SSR Box  (David Fansler)

Step 1 :

Having completed my Olson-595, I next turned to how to take 5vdc and control 120vac. For my strictly on/off lights I used a quad blue plastic box from Lowe's, with 4 duplex receptacles (with the hot sides separated). Eight 3A solid state relays (SSR) were mounted on a prefboard and placed in the bottom of the blue box. Control cable and power cable were added. A little cutting on the cover plates, soldering a male DB9 on the control cable and I am ready to go! One down, 7 more to go. A more detailed explanation can be found at http://www.dv-fansler.com/Computer%20Lights/ssr.htm
