HowTo: 4 channel 8 function 3Amp animation controller for $5  (Darren_ Shell)

Step 1 : Find a sale

After christmas sales are the best and here is another reason why. 1st step buy sets of 140 light chasing lights for around $2 and a 4 sets of 35 lights for about $.50 each

Step 2 : Trash the lights

next cut the controller off the chasing lights and cut the plug end off the 35 light sets.

Step 3 : Buliding your controller

Now using wire nuts (test model) or soder and heat shrink tubing. connect a plug to each of the 4 wires coming out from the controller. Then tie 1 wire from each plug to the common wire of the controller.

Step 4 : Plug it in

This set up is great for adding motion and reducing power consumption if you are lighting bushes or anything with around 400 lights or 4 strands of rope light. Typically 400 lights draw around 1.37 amps. With this simple contraption I can reduce that to anywhere from.90amps down to .48 amps depending on the amount of motion you want.
