Step 1 : Login to the Site

You must be logged in to the site to create a howto. When you create the howto, it will initially be set to "private" so you may work on it over time and you don't have to make it public (and let anyone else see it) until you have completed the howto.

Step 2 : Go to the How To Area

Click on the "How To" link to go to the howto area of the site.

Step 3 : Go to the Creation Area

Click on the "Submit/Modify a How To" link to begin creating (or modifying) your how to.

Step 4 : Create the Title

You will have the option of selecting one of your previous howtos to modify, make public, or make private. You will also be prompted for the title of a new howto if you want to create a new one.

Type the title of your new howto and click "Begin Writing this HowTo".

Step 5 : Add Steps


You will now be prompted for each step. Enter a brief heading for each step (ie. "Connect the Cable") and then enter the more detailed description of the step (ie. "Connect the DB-9 end of the 8-port circuit box to the control box grid array in the correct position.").

You may also add an image (like the one seen here at the right) to help explain the step by clicking the "Browse" button and browsing your local PC for the image file to upload.

Click "Save this Step" when the step is complete.
